Do I need good credit to buy a home?

But I know you don’t have to have a perfect credit score to buy a home.
Most people believe you need a perfect or very high credit score to purchase a home.
Having a higher credit score is helpful, but not necessary. You can, in some cases, get a home loan with a 580 credit score. Generally speaking, a 640 credit score opens you up to almost all lending options.
