You have likely not heard of Colcord, Oklahoma unless you live in or near the small town. But with some great new (affordable!!) homes being built, this town is worth a look.
Just a small blip on the map, Colcord is a town in northeast Oklahoma with a census of 871 people (2021). It sits just 6 miles west of the Arkansas State Line (7 miles by road).

Things To Do In Colcord Oklahoma
Although small, Colcord Oklahoma has the basics pretty much covered.
Colcord Oklahoma Public services: Senior Center, Emergency Services, Police Department, Town Hall Administration, Talbot Library and Museum, Public Works Authority, Chamber of Commerce, Board of Trustees, Post Office.
Colcord Oklahoma Schools: Elementary School, Middle School, and High School.
Small shopping: Family Dollar + Family Tree, Dollar General.
Larger shopping trips: Siloam Walmart Supercenter (17.5 miles) Gentry Harps Food Store (13.4 miles)
Other services: G+D One Stop Station (convenience store), Urban 116 (gifts), Corner Post Cafe (dining).
The real magic comes in the beauty of the nature surrounding this small town! There is never a lack of animals- horses, cows, and sheep relaxing in beautiful fields with gorgeous backdrops.
If you choose to do some off-roading (which is almost mandatory if you live in a small town), you can come across other hidden treasures…

Things To Do Near Colcord Oklahoma
New Life Ranch- Flint Valley (6.9 miles)
New Life Ranch Flint Valley is a 1,000-acre Christian camp that functions as a summer camp for kids in grades 3-12 and a retreat center throughout the rest of the year.
Fidler’s Bend Outdoor Adventure Park (8.1 Miles)
Fidler’s Bend Outdoor Adventure Park offers 1,050 scenic acres of outdoor adventure. Activities include all types of trail riding, hiking, fishing, primitive camping, canoeing, and swimming.
Arrowhead Speedway (9.2 miles)
Many events are held at this 1/3 mile clay track sitting just outside Siloam Springs.
Natural Falls State Park (9.5 miles)
Natural Falls State Park is a beautiful natural setting with a 77ft waterfall known to many movie lovers. The popular 1974 film Where the Red Fern Grows was filmed in part at Natural Falls (then called Dripping Springs).
The park offers yurts, tent camping, RV camping, 4.5 miles of hiking and nature trails, a picnic shelter, volleyball, horseshoes, a basketball court, catch and release fishing, playgrounds, an eighteen-hole disc golf course, and a formal garden area.

Flint Creek Water Park (9.8 miles)
The park has 1900 total acres with a 650-acre lake and 13 miles of shoreline. Park features include cabins, shelters, lodge hall, camping, RV amps (30/50), primitive area, fishing until 10 pm, swimming, picnicking, skiing, hiking, boating, waterslide, and boat rentals.
Lake Eucha (13.4 miles)
Lake Echa is 2,812 surface acres and has 48 miles of shoreline, with multiple boat ramps for easy access to the lake. Points on the lake to check out: Upper Spavinaw Recreation Area, Lake Eucha Park, Old Eucha School House, Powderhorn Cave Bluff, and the Lake Eucha Dam.
(This fishing-only lake does allow boats, but no swimming or other water sports are permitted.)
Cherokee Hotel and Casino (13.4 miles)
The Cherokee Hotel and Casino sits just inside the Oklahoma State Line. It offers accommodations, dining, and entertainment.
For the gamblers, the casino offers 1,500 electronic games and more than 20 table games, including poker, Texas Hold ’em, Omaha poker, and seven-card stud. The hotel has 140 rooms, including seven suites. Dining includes a restaurant or a full food court with a variety of choices.
There is always music going on at the Casino! The Qualla Ballroom hosts events that require ticket purchase (past artists: The Charlie Daniels Band, Tanya Tucker, The Oakridge Boys), while the Seven Bar offers free shows of various genres (past artists: Everclear, Neal McCoy, Tone Loc).
